495978 2006-11-02 06:30:00 The DSE RJ-45 crimping tool is crap, ive got one sitting on my desk i borrowed from a friend and its a waste of time, he doesnt want it back. If you want to buy a decent tool try an Electrical Wholesaler. Pete O'Neil (6584)
495979 2006-11-02 07:47:00 The one I have at the moment I got from MadKiwi.com (madkiwihosting.co.nz) Though they dont have any available, if there is a computer store nearby maybe they could do the crimping for you? bob_doe_nz (92)

495981 2006-11-03 03:19:00 Jaycars or SI Components also have the crimping tools. ... They all seem to cost $50 or up. :(

By the way, there are two different types of RJ45 connector: to be used with solid conductor(fixed cabling) and stranded (patch cables). It's a bad idea to use the wrong sort.

I'm looking for one to crimp SMA connectors now ... and I thought I had all the tools I would ever need.

495982 2006-11-03 12:50:00 Use a converter. This changes the coax to a cat5 cable and you can put 4 cameras down the cat5. Then you can move the DVR closer to the main computer that goes on the internet. The converter can send up to 1500m so 100m is no probs. ABCDEF (11378)
