2006-11-01 22:12:00 | I know about the Sky part, and it is illegal. I have a decoder already what I mean is keep that and have the analogue output of the decoder going into the analogue input of the card, as you said. Yes, I know there is free to air digital round, just need a box, we used to have one but got rid of it. that is what I want the card to be able to do. I have had a bit of a search and found none really... it is just the different satellite standards etc that I was wanting to try a NZ forum, thats all. But I will continue to look. Are you understanding anything im saying David? Your asking for advice on purchasing a digital tv tuner, and im saying dont worry about inputing sky as its very straight forward and find a tuner suited to decoding free to air digital tv. If your not going to decode free to air whats the ****ing point in getting a digital tuner?

2006-11-01 22:29:00 | Yes, I am. That is true and I know it is easy to hook the Sky decoder up... So yes, I am looking for a digital tuner that can decode free to air. That is why I said digital tuner... if I wasn't looking for a digital tuner, I would just be using the one out of my current PC...

2006-11-02 00:16:00 | I have just got a reply stating that there are no Hauppauge cards that will meet my needs, but I have been reccomended this (www.ascent.co.nz) which I don't think meets the analogue part... So I went onto the manufacturers website and found the AVerTV DVB-S Hybrid+FM (www.avermedia.com) will do what I want. Anyone had any experiences with these cards/brand (good or bad)?

2006-11-05 03:44:00 | I too have been lookin at the Hauppauge HVR-3000 for a while David. When you say "I have just got a reply stating that there are no Hauppauge cards that will meet my needs" who made the statement, and what exactly did they say? I thought this card would cover all options, as the Free to air deal developed. | Eijit (11374) | |
2006-11-05 04:21:00 | I too have been lookin at the Hauppauge HVR-3000 for a while David. When you say "I have just got a reply stating that there are no Hauppauge cards that will meet my needs" who made the statement, and what exactly did they say? I thought this card would cover all options, as the Free to air deal developed. Well I E-Mailed Ascent and (I said I would prefer a Hauppauge card) they replied with "Unfortunately our distributors don't import any Hauppage tuners to fit your specifications." I am quite sure this card will do exactly what I need (free to air digital, analogue (aerial) and radio) But by the sound of it we are unable to get them here in NZ. So they recommended this (www.ascent.co.nz) in place of it, but I am still not convinced that this can do what I want... Also does the HVR-3000 work on Windows MCE? and are we actually able to get them?
