And now its full - so I must pay for an upgrade (loosing a well earned 60 year old reputation for being really tight - Scrooge is my hero!). Password Agent is OK - but I do not really enthuse over it. So before lashing out I would like to know if there are better (ie also free) programs out there that may make me happier. I have even considered making a spreadsheet file or similar, to store all my passwords, but worry over security. Tom |

I store passwords and other sensitive information in it. http://keepass.sourceforge.net/ If you are into storing passwords on a PDA there is a free product called Keyring for doing this. Of course someone has written a utility called KeePasstoKeyring to allow you to maintain your mastercopy of sensitive information on a PC in KeePass and migrate it to your PDA (Palm and Windows) where you use Keyring to access it. I've never used Password Agent but KeePass was the best of a bunch that I tried. |

It doesn't fill up and become unusable and it will generate high entropy passwords automatically, if you like. multiple databases are supported, and multiple safes. One password to open the safe, double click an entry and the selected password - and or username - is coppyed to the clipboard ready for pasting. The clpiboard is cleared when PW Safe is minimized - if you wish. I have used PWSafe everyday for several years now and I like it. Just make up one master password that you won't forget "I like Myselfe a Lot" would do to open the encripted database. Just don't write it down! I find it easy to use, and that is saying a lot. http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/ I see that version 3.04 is now available so I am downloading it now. |
