| 496526 | 2006-11-05 03:23:00 | Problem happened yesterday after Xtra was out for a good 4-5hours due to Authentication problems. When it came back I turned my router back on and went into Firefox (which points to 192.168.1.1). It timed out an just thought it hadn't connected yet so waited a little bit to find it still wasn't connecting. The taskbar came up with a bubble telling I have a limited LAN connection. The router is a Asus AM6020BI-T4 if it helps. I am back on my old modem so have one computer with a connection :( I guess its a paper weight now but maybe someone has some tricks to get routers alive again :) Thanks. EDIT: Oh also the lights still go on the router and a connection comes up but can't access it. |

| 496527 | 2006-11-05 03:31:00 | Here's a new firmware driver (drivers.softpedia.com) for the router...save it on whatever media you want...even usb firefly is ok, and set it loose on the bugger. | SurferJoe46 (51) | ||

Turn the modem back on and wait a few minutes to ensure it has picked up a signal and then turn the computer back on again. See if you can access the modem now. You could also try to repair the connection. Right click on the LAN icon in the systray and select repair. |

It's in Russian and how do I go about updating the firmware when I cannot access the Router Control Panel :)? The IMG file cannot be put on a CD/USB etc. But updates through the CP. Try here. www.portforward.com As above no CP. You could also try to repair the connection. Right click on the LAN icon in the systray and select repair. Turned modem off and pc off and on and off etc. Reparing did not seem to do the job either. |

| 496532 | 2006-11-05 05:57:00 | Have you tried the reset button. Hold down for at least 10 Seconds. Leave for a minute, then restart modem, then computer. You won't get access to the Internet, but you should be able to access the Configuration page hopefully. |

Hold down for at least 10 Seconds. Yup tried that too and while it did reset I was not able to access the Config page. Also the Status of the router stays at Acquiring network address for about 2 minutes before going to Limited or no Connection. 4imgs.us.to |

| 496534 | 2006-11-05 07:24:00 | If the dhcp of the router is not working, then you can get symptoms lick that. As the router defaults to IP = 192.168.1.1 ,Mask = 255.255.255.0 , see if your computer is in the same range. Do this by going through start-run and enter CMD Then enter in the window IPCONFIG If it isn't in the same range, go into the properties of the LAN connection and double-click the Internet protocol (tcp/ip) listing. Manually put in 192.168.1.5 and mask 255.255.255.0 Repair connection. Then see if you can talk to the router. |
