496539 2006-11-06 04:41:00 If the dhcp of the router is not working, then you can get symptoms lick that.

As the router defaults to IP = 192.168.1.1 ,Mask = 255.255.255.0 , see if your computer is in the same range.
Do this by going through start-run and enter CMD
Then enter in the window IPCONFIG

If it isn't in the same range, go into the properties of the LAN connection and double-click the Internet protocol (tcp/ip) listing. Manually put in 192.168.1.5 and mask 255.255.255.0
Repair connection.
Then see if you can talk to the router.

I was able to connect this time but no CP or Internet :waughh:

496540 2006-11-06 04:56:00 Try, going back into the Tcp/Ip properties where you set the IP address for the Ethernet connection.

Lower down you will see the "Default gateway", put in there 192.168.1.1
Below that, under that, click on the 'Use the following DNS servers"
In "preferred DNS server" put in 192.168.1.1
In "Alternate DNS server" put in 203.97.33.1

Then try access to the Internet.

496541 2006-11-06 06:22:00 ^^Still no joy.

The router looks like its working like it normally would but the net does not work.

496542 2006-11-06 08:07:00 Buggar, not a happy camper is it?

If you want send it to me for a look-see, just PM me. Otherwise I have run out of ideas at this time.

I'll go have a ponder on what we could do next.
