| 496356 | 2006-11-04 22:29:00 | Many thanks to everyone for the informative replies, I also have my tolls with Ihug and pay the $39-95. Go to InternetChoice.co.nz and there is an add for Ihug ADSL Broadband 2 and no mention of any ten dollars extra, only a contract of 18 months. Had an idea that there was a catch somewhere and my enquiry has brought forth results. Thanks again..Ron.. Press F1 strikes again!!!! |

I have just made the switch to IHUG's so called Broadband 2 plan and when I organized the switch I took pains to insist that while I was prepared to pay the $40 for the phone line, I had no need for any calling plan. As a consequence they put me on what they call "hp - Direct Dial Basic" which attracts no extra charge and this was confirmed both by email as well as the current profile of "My Account" on their web site. Naturally I do have my toll calls with them as well but since I use Skype pretty much exclusively for all my toll calls anyway, again this does not cost anything. In summary I get 3GB of data at a max download of 7.6Mbps for $40.00/month plus $40.00/month for the phone line..... with NO other charges. |
