497057 2006-11-07 01:59:00 I am using XP Pro's Remote Desktop Connection and want to be able to run DOS programs in full screen mode. Can anyone help please. mccauley (8734)
497058 2006-11-07 02:31:00 And why would u want to play DOS games remotely?

DOS games may not work properly anyway

497059 2006-11-07 02:47:00 Just move the slider bar all the way to the right under the display tab from the Options button! SolMiester (139)

What!, Rubbish, I can run DOS full screen in XP no problem, unless I'm missing something here?

DOS games often require low level access to resources like the monitor. This 'superiority' of Windows 98 comes at the cost of complete lack of any secure resource control whatsoever.

You may be able to play some DOS games remotely using a virtual machine. I've had no luck with DOS graphics in VMWare but you may have more luck with something else. It would be far simpler though just to run the games on the computer you're sitting at.

497064 2006-11-07 03:15:00 This is all assuming that he even wants to play DOS games - games aren't mentioned anywhere in the original post. Erayd (23)

497066 2006-11-07 10:41:00 Years ago I upgraded my brothers computer and the farm management software he was using said it wouldn't work within XP. I had a bit of fun getting it working and then emailed them (after succeding) and they didn't want to know. They wanted him to go on subscription based software which is what MS would realy like us to be on. That would have cost hime three times as much over the years he had been using it. I probably saved him several thousand dollars. mikebartnz (21)
