| 496927 | 2006-11-06 22:39:00 | www.gpforums.co.nz It says there is now a 200mb daily hourly limit which i don't like at all. why is telecom doing all this? 700mb between 4pm-12pm was enough. it's like we have to use broadband at specific times now to suite telecom. |

| 496928 | 2006-11-06 22:47:00 | The BB tech I was talking to said that there are no limits whatsoever a part from the 700Mb peak times which is fair enough, think of other people a part from your self, how would you like it if you were just an average surfer whos speed was slow because of the person down the street was downloading a stupid amount of crap? EDIT: I just finished reading the thread and came accross this: Ok. So what's the problem then? 1) you don't refer to a specific article 2) you don't have any proof 3) you don't give an appropriate reason yourself 4) when approached about this you will instead attack the poster He has no proof/article to back it up. |

| 496930 | 2006-11-06 22:48:00 | Maybe my maths is wrong, but 200MB/hour works out to be a top speed of about 450kbps. Gotta love full speed.... It may be necessary to limit the available bandwidth to ensure that everyone has the best speed possible, but to claim that this is "unleashed" is patently false - "limited" = "unleashed". Not in my dictionary. |

Gotta love full speed.... Your maths is wrong, 200000Kb divided by 60 then divided by 60 again will give 55.55Kbps reccuring you are talking about the speeds like 2Mb, 3.5Mb etc... not the real download speed... | The_End_Of_Reality (334) | ||
| 496932 | 2006-11-06 23:29:00 | That does it ive had a gutsfull of xtra no wonder they were surveyed as the worst isp recently.Who the hell do telecom or xtra think they are restricting us who pay good money for highspeed internet and then get told that you can only use 200mb and hour well they can go and get stuffed thats it ive had enough of their **** im changing isps right now. XTRA YOU SUCK. | Hitech (9024) | ||

I'm afraid your maths is wrong. You're confusing bytes and bits. Bytes in 200MB = 1024 * 1024 * 200 = 209715200 Rate in bytes per second = 209715200 / 60 / 60 = 58254 Rate in Kilobits per second = 58254 * 8 = 466032 Kbps Incidentally, if there are limits like this in place then you could argue that Xtra is guilty of false advertising. You'd have a hard job complaining about a limit during peak hours but an explicit limit per hour is a completely different kettle of fish. |

| 496935 | 2006-11-06 23:59:00 | Calli it what you like but telecom will alwyas win in the end like they always do. They treat you like **** and expect you to pay $50 for a speed that cant be reached and now a 200mb hourly limit which is not heresay if you had bothered to read the posted links above. | Hitech (9024) | ||
| 496936 | 2006-11-07 00:01:00 | Their are currently no know problems on the XTRA network. YEAH RIGHT. |
