496584 2006-11-05 09:24:00 Hi,
I just bought a Foxconn 865PEAD-S motherboard to replace my dead Asus P4C800 motherboard but I am having a hard time to configurate it. The motherboard has 2 IDE connectors and 2 Sata connectors.
The system set-up was:
1 DVD Rom connected on IDE Primary connector (dvd rom on master jumper)
1DVD Writer connect on IDE
Nothing on IDE Secondary connector
Primary Slave (DVD Writer on slave jumper)
1 sata HDD connected on sata0
Nothing on sata1

When I start up the computer it gives me this message CMOS CHSK SUN-DEFAULT LOADED.So I have to go to CMOS SETUP UTILITY-ON CHIP IDEDEVICE-ON CHIP SERIAL ATA change from [disable] mode] to [enhanced] mode. Then save & exit. But it will not save the setting I had changed if I shut down the computer then turn off power switch at the back of computer box. (If I don’t switch off the power the setting [enhanced mode] will still be there for next time to use.

Can any help me please?
Chinadoll.

496585 2006-11-05 09:32:00 It will be a flat CMOS battery. It looks about the size of the old 10cent piece on the motherboard.

They can be easily replaced and available at Supermarkets and Dick Smith.

Bad move.

Why not ditch the DVDRom - the DVDWriter does the job of both...

496590 2006-11-07 09:47:00 Hi pctek,
I had throught about that to ditch the DVDRom. It will leave a hole on my box so I just leave there.
Thanks for advice.
