496998 2006-11-08 07:13:00 Fair speed here for DL's, 125 IP's. Certainly not full speed or even half, however it never was before anyway.

Download Speed: 2503 kbps (312.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 123 kbps (15.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Last fee with Clear Net 150hr I had to pay 2 or 3hr surcharge for like seven bucks. Sometime last yr I got my butt kicked v good, they billed me 12.95 and then added 110.00 as overage.

I was really thinking of getting BB this coming month, my next billing cycle with my current connection is like 7 days away, I don't think I will do it by then. Why bother. Its frustration, free the line up, get it a bit quicker and I want to get into streaming vid clips and those demo games. Fifty bucks is like this, I might as well get the eighty bucks, maybe that is considered entry level for a mainstream internet user. I am thinking about TelstraClear Pretty Damn Quick's 10GB of max/max for fifty five bucks. Screw Telescum.

497000 2006-11-08 07:25:00 Yes yes I remem the days $60 then 40, Ihug's Diamond account. I went into Ihug to get my setup diskette back those days I didn't even had a CD drive in my laptop and I had to download the browser. One of my mate had that and cancelled it but they kept sending him bills ;-) Nomad (952)
497001 2006-11-08 11:37:00 So M$ is behind this now.
I know MS and Telecom are going through a divorce right now (they actually have a very similar business modal) but if you wanted to download the ISO's of a Linux distribution you would be stuffed wether it is a 200 or 700 MB limit.

497002 2006-11-08 12:03:00 I don't get it........

So do 200mb/hr restrictions apply for Xtra or not? There seems to be news from Computerworld, and some person from Xtra, who are denying this...

But then, we have official documents like 4imgs.us.to that states clearly that both Xtra Go Large and UBS Cabriolet plans will have the same restrictions....

Personally, I think that the latter view is the right status now... That either you exceed 700mb during peak hours, or 200mb/hr in any given peak period, do it twice, and into the "sin bin" you go for a week....

That's because for my other connection at my other house, that was indeed what happened, from memory... I made sure only to download 400mb over that peak period, but I did exceed 200mb in one hour. Did it on Thu and Sat, and *groan*.. internet slowed wayy down....

Hence??? Some clarification by others with more info?

497003 2006-11-08 13:02:00 I guess it comes down to only time will tell :)

We don't know what is going on in Telecom. They do this they tell that etc.

497004 2006-11-08 18:43:00 I can just see Theresa Gattung sitting in front of her computer in the boardroom .

"O . K all you little bastards!! . :angry

"I know I'm on a 100gbit Ethernet pure feed" . :xmouth:

"But; Because you've all been bitching"

I'm throttling the lot of you!!" . :stare:

Telecoms new slogan is now . . . . . . . .

More for us - Less for you . Have a brilliant day . We are too .
