496987 2006-11-08 03:53:00 I'm confused, It says here (computerworld.co.nz)
"According to Xtra's Papich, there is no 200MB per hour limit during peak times on the Go Large plan."
Yet people are talking as if it does? Is that site wrong?

496988 2006-11-08 04:10:00 I certainly hope there isn't a 200MB/hr limit - I'd be inclined to believe that their isn't, and xtra is doing some backpedalling after getting caught out. And thank god there are no overage charges (apologies for misleading people, I was just repeating what I was told by tech staff).

What bothers me more than anything though is the discrimination against other ISPs - if the Cabriolet plan has this limit, and the Go Large plan doesn't, how are other ISPs supposed to compete fairly when the product is biased against them?

See I told you that half the time what the Telcome tech says is either out of date or is wrong or they don’t know what’s happing :p

Hey he was pretty fast putting that up. Must have had a lot of people panicking.

Still the 700mb limit is bad enough, a neighbour of mine just moved on to it at the recommendation of Xtras helpdesk guy, as she wouldn't have any limits. They sent her an email saying that too.
I showed her the Fair Use policy of which there was no mention at all.
She did find it a bit confusing (and annoying) cause technically Telecom aren't going to slow you down after a certain data limit - but the effect is pretty much the same.

Just had to tell her grandkids to watch it - they play online games and download a few demos on her PC.

496991 2006-11-08 04:39:00 Legally how does it stack up if you are not notified?

I had a look of Orcon's packages re: zeroshock. They say if ya use a lot of data such as 20GB they can change your plan and you won't be able to get back onto the zeroshock plan. Seems like same old same old .. I might as well buy a game than download a demo. I mind as well get cheap calling cards ...

Your grounded. No broadband for you. Now go and write an apology letter for Mother Gattung

What is this unleached thing. Don't tell me its the theoretical speed of its lines, now that'll be pretty sad, NZ needs to knock down all its wires and rewire the darn thing :waughh: Well they did say maximum speed. Or some good Telecom marketing. I wonder how does Battlemonkey plays online games and Gomez does his thing. The group looks like if they just came off Armageddon or something.
