496841 2006-11-06 16:52:00 I am trying to reply to an email but it keeps bouncing back.

496842 2006-11-06 19:05:00 This is when the IP address changes all the time. AOHELL users have dynamic addresses, for example. pcuser42 (130)
496843 2006-11-06 19:09:00 This is probably some sort of anti-spam measure. Use a different mail provider if you want to send it anyway. TGoddard (7263)
496844 2006-11-06 19:20:00 Just a thought... Could it be that the recipient is trying to run their own mail server, but it fails because of the dynamic IP? Greg (193)
496845 2006-11-06 20:29:00 I only have one provider and I am replying to their email. kjaada (253)

I agree, sounds like the recipient is running their own mail server and your mail server can't resolve the recipient's address. What domain is their address?

496848 2006-11-07 04:22:00 From Google:

"OptusNet has installed a spam prevention system on our mail servers which prevents Dynamic-IP addresses from sending mail directly to our servers.

Unfortunately it appears that your server you have mentioned is being blocked as the mail is being sent directly to our mail server directly from a dynamic-IP address.

Many spammers and viruses will attempt to send spam and viruses directly from a dynamic-IP address. We have instituted this block to help lower the level of spam and viruses entering our network that eventually end up in our customers mailboxes.

Our mail servers use the SORBS DUL list (dynamic IP list.) There is no way to circumvent this block without removing your IP address from the SORBS list. If you have proof that your IP address is not dynamic, then you should contact SORBS and request removal from their list"

496849 2006-11-07 04:32:00 Would it make any difference if I send my reply by typing in the Optus address instead of replying.? That worked once then would not work again. kjaada (253)
496850 2006-11-07 04:32:00 I only have one provider and I am replying to their email. So their mail server is rejecting email from their own mail server. :) Graham L (2)
