1408833 2015-09-24 23:22:00 Hi guys.
Our Church uses a Windows 8 computer for showing songs, etc, via a projector.
I was thinking that it should be possible to record the sermons, etc, via a patch cord from the sound system into the computer.
Does anyone know if this is possible and if so a simple way of doing it?
Thanks,
Ian.

1408835 2015-09-25 00:37:00 Yep as Speedy says. I know several people who do this with Audacity. Most older desks will have a 'tape out' which will be 2x RCAs - really easy. On more modern boards you may need to assign a subgroup or aux to be the recording output, or sometimes you may have two FOH outputs, and you can just use one of those.

Do you know the brand/model of your mixing desk? I've used a bit of Presonus gear and it has awesome recording functionality built right in - install the software on the PC and link it up to the desk and you've for yourself a full on multi track recording desk.

Hi Speed and thanks.
But I thought Microsoft would have it's own recording software, as I'm sure that XP & Vista have it build in.
As per sound desk, I've used it a few times, but can't remember.
Just know it's a 20 channel, but not used it since last year.

1408837 2015-09-25 01:42:00 They do have some, but it's extremely basic. Audacity is a lot better designed for what you're doing. If you need any more help let me know. wratterus (105)
