| 1408644 | 2015-09-21 09:43:00 | Windows 10 download problem: -Got a 500gb Samsung rv511 running Win 7. -Had little white Win10 notification flag sitting in the taskbar for several weeks, but every time I clicked it the Win 10 window just told me to keep waiting, be real soon now. -Went to windows Upgrade to check on Win 7, found win 10 apparently ready to be downloaded. So I did - all 2850 mb, took forever, only hitch was that at one point I was required to uninstall Samsung Support Centre as it was imcompatile. -Win 10 seemed to download ok - took forever to configure itself - but all I got at the end was a blank screen, with the win10 logo in the centre, and no mouse or keyboard input, and no power-off ability. -Eventually I unplugged the PC and took the battery out. That got a clean reboot of Win 7, -Did it all over again, with same result. -Windows Update history shows both attempts as Failed, error code C1900208 for the first one, error code C1900108 for the second. -Seem to be a couple of files named Samsung when I look in Explorer, but none named Samsung Support Centre any more, if there was one. Bit wary of deleting those. Sorry to go on so long, any bright ideas for a very unskilled user? |
