| 1408395 | 2015-09-14 22:20:00 | The fingerprint reader on my HP Pavilion DM4 laptop has stopped working. Device Manager still knows about it and says it is working properly. I've reinstalled the drivers - no effect. I've looked at various HP Support websites and none of them have been a lot of good. They talk about installing some different software, which hasn't worked either. Question one is how do I find out whether it is hardware or software? Question two is what to do after I've answered question one? It may or may not be relevant that this seems to have happened after I "upgraded" to Windows 10 then went back to Windows 7. |
