| 1408239 | 2015-09-11 07:47:00 | Does anyone here have experience with the above programme? I have been trying to work with it since Monday, and have had only intermittent success . It seems to work for a while ok, and then I am unable to pick-up either video or audio from the video tape . I have contacted their techs on-line, and three times had a 'standard' reply asking for pics an details of my installation . I have supplied these, then nothing (since Wednesday) . I know I am impatient :( I have also gone to their Roxio Community - and had some advice from there . The software is still not working consistently . I have uninstalled/reinstalled a number of times, but this seems to have limited effect . I note when poking around in the Registry (I go carefully there with full instructions from youse yins!) - that there is a Roxio entry there . Do you think it would help if I got rid of this (with your help, of course) and then reinstalled, from scratch, so-to-speak?? |

| 1408240 | 2015-09-12 23:08:00 | I have done clean-installs, by deleting a manufacturer's registry tree, but it's usually out of desperation. I wouldn't recommend it. I'd suspect you'd have a hardware problem. Considering the low price of this product, I'd be inclined to suspect the Roxio device. I'd try it on another PC, if available. I have found USB video capture devices to be less reliable than PCIe boards, however USB devices is better a consumer items because it doesn't involve opening the PC. Often with these device, they are very picky about when they are plugged in. If you're leaving it plugged in constantly, I'd suggest leaving the USB device unplugged until your PC is fully booted. Plug it in, and usually you'll get a tone telling you it's ready. Then try Roxio's software. |

| 1408241 | 2015-09-13 09:42:00 | Thanks for your help. I now have it going (and have managed to copy two tapes successfully). I thing the problem may be in the Roxio hardware (don't think it is my computer - I have no other problems like this...) I have been asking questions on the Roxio Users website. The whole thing is very iffy, and not something I will pursue with any enthusiasm! And it was a little expensive as well - certainly not good value for money. :( |
