1399819 2015-05-01 06:39:00 Firstly, Key dispels a rumour that Maori are to be given water rights. HERE (www.stuff.co.nz)

Then Winston Peters announces that behind closed doors negotiations are going on to do just that. HERE (nzfirst.org.nz)

Then a David Round confirms what Winston Peters has said and goes on to explain the absurdity of the whole thing. HERE (breakingviewsnz.blogspot.co.nz)

Now given Key reopened the Seabed and Foreshore debacle I don’t trust him for one moment. :groan:

1399821 2015-05-01 07:24:00 What this country needs is a lot of politicians swinging from gibbets at every intersection, along with a blue flower and a sign reporting "We already forgot them". R2x1 (4628)

Ahhh, another fully expected response from our resident intellectual heavyweight. :D

So to show there is no ill feeling, HERE (www.nzherald.co.nz) is where your taxes went.

1399823 2015-05-01 21:28:00 I always said charter schools were a bad idea by a bad government now we see the proof $30000 per child in a charter school mostly paid by the taxpayer yet state schools only have around $7600 per child gary67 (56)
1399824 2015-05-01 21:46:00 "Firstly" there is no such word - grammatically speaking.

or, grammatically speaking, there is no such word as "Firstly" :(

1399828 2015-05-02 00:09:00 Although slightly pedantic ... I think you're both right, Zippity and B.M..

First and second are perfectly good adverbs and for enumerating (e.g. points in a thesis), firstly and secondly seem unnecessary and stylistically unattractive.
