| 1399757 | 2015-05-01 00:16:00 | Bought one of these and found it worked perfectly, imagine a battery you can put in your pocket and will jump start the car. Alas it lost the ability to hold a charge after a couple of week.Got in touch and was told I would be refunded cost.Can't ask for more. I then tried another from different firm,right off the torch didn't work, sent email informing them, their reply said, we tried one of ours didn't work either,sorry about that, presumably that was that.I then later in the day tried to switch on, this time it came on but wouldn't switch off, which means it flattens it self. So now they want it back, I will send by tracked mail as I have had it where they have denied receiving parcel.Another crowd that is. www.trademe.co.nz |

Then again the battery in my much larger portable jump starter is only a low capacity lead acid (7 AH I think) and it worked a treat the one time I actually used it :). I think both devices rely on the car battery still being able to supply some of the current and I'm not sure they'd work if it was completely flat. | dugimodo (138) | ||

| 1399761 | 2015-05-01 04:12:00 | I built my own about 10 years ago. Neighbourhood has made good use of it The kit is built round a 68 Ah car battery and longer-than-normal jumper leads. (With very thick cables to compensate for the extra length) The other components are a battery charger, inverter, power board, and table lamp. I had in mind an emergency power source for the house as well as jump-starting cars It is important to choose a battery with a good handle |
