| 1399753 | 2015-04-30 23:51:00 | I received my new Galaxy S4 Mini yesterday, which of course included a "travel" charger/adapter. Thing is that I'm half the time at my friend's house and half at home. I'm hoping that the charger from my old Galaxy Gio will be safe to use on the S4. I don't want the minor schlep of having to take my charger each way when I visit her. Any ideas on what I should check to see if it'll be safe? The info below is only as accurate as my ability to read the stuff with my hopelessly inadequate glasses. (dots are numbers/letters I can't read) New charger: Model: Samsung ETAOUBOHWE Input: 100 - 240V - 50-60Hz 0.15A Output: 5.0V=1.0A Made in Vietnam Old charger: Model: Samsung ET......BE Input: 100 - 240V - ..-.............. Output: 5.0V=0.7A Made in China |

Even my Samsung flip phone charger which is 4.75V and .55A happily charges my note 3 (although slowly). The only time it's a risk is with proprietary chargers that use higher voltages such as an asus tablet charger I had previously that output 15V @ 2A to fast charge the transformer tablet. But even that was supposed to auto sense and switch to 5V if another device was connected according to the manual. Also any chargers that covert from mains to a USB port are safe to use with any device charging cable that'll plug into USB |
