| 1399709 | 2015-05-06 13:03:00 | I assume when you apply for the upgrade you get a new key to use which would work for fresh installs or they'll allow Windows 10 to activate on old Windows 7/8 keys. Windows 7 can be installed without a key and activated at a later date (I assume the same for 8) so I guess you could just do the same with 10 if they don't issue new keys for the upgrade (did they do this in the past for say 7 to 8? I didn't upgrade). | icow (15313) | ||

| 1399713 | 2015-05-18 02:15:00 | Now this is interesting... "Windows 10 Preview testers will get a free upgrade to final RTM version" www.pcworld.com I'm skeptical about that that though, a tweet is not really an official MS announcement . Wouldnt it mean that anyone could get 10 for free, just by having installing preview version first ? Thats not the MS way. |

| 1399714 | 2015-05-18 05:52:00 | Probably the only way they'll get anyone to upgrade... I'd say most people only just finally let go of XP, they aren't going to shift from Windows 7 any time soon... |
