1399864 2015-05-03 21:56:00 So it might be but what does a 6+ do that an S4 mini can't. Considering I'm still using an S3 mini. In my opinion all it will do is cost you more. This isn't a apple v android issue. It's a low end phone v high end phone. plod (107)
1399865 2015-05-03 22:19:00 Yes I know but you didn't answer my question. gary67 (56)
1399866 2015-05-03 22:36:00 Goes faster, displays stuff on a bigger nicer screen, that's about it. Might take better pictures and have a better speaker as well.

Using a high end phone is a smoother experience and a bigger screen is easier to read but does that really = 5 or 6 ties better? personally I don't think so. I was going to say the iPhone 6 is undeniably better but then I figured what if you find it too big and the price is too high? In that case you could argue the S4 mini is better and it's hard to dispute.

Myself I bought a 2nd hand Note 3 and I love it, I find the large size suits me and the speed is nice but I would never have paid full retail for it. It's better than my old S3 was but not by a huge amount. Horses for courses.

1399867 2015-05-04 00:05:00 This isn't a apple v android issue. It's a low end phone v high end phone.Actually more like a high-end phablet for which you almost need a suitcase to carry around with you, vs a truly mobile mid-end device. Greg (193)
1399868 2015-05-04 22:42:00 Your daughter has more money than sense!

She should buy him a basic second phone of the cheapest type possible and make him leave his iPhone at home when he goes to known areas of risk, including places where he leaves his backpack unattended. It would have happened just once with my kids and they'd have be reduced to using semaphore.

Sensible daughter has never been infected with the iEverything bug, but iMpressionable son replaced his excellent large screen laptop with a squitty little iPad and when home from his cruise-ship gigs he declines to use his PC and 24" monitor to check emails, and sits for hours hunched over the iPad checking emails and playing with his Facebook.

Incidentally, I fear that the 'just hand it over' advice may one day backfire, then your grandson will get beaten up into the bargain on the assumption he's a right little mummy's-boy.

Cheers

1399869 2015-05-05 00:21:00 Not a Mummy's boy, in fact he is greatly admired at the skate park for his risk-taking and the spectacular accidents he has had whilst trying to perform new tricks. Been to hospital emergency department quite a few times for concussion and broken bones, grazes and cuts and bruising, had screws and plate put in his ankle due to one mishap.

As he says there is no point in fighting when outnumbered 4 or 5 to 1 by people your size or thereabouts when being pressured to hand over aforesaid object.

Because he is blond, very, very good-looking, muscled and popular with the young women he is a target for all the other wannabes who want to show him up.

1399870 2015-05-08 11:27:00 Hey Greg

Long time no see. In my experience once you hand over the money, think of it as a gift, and if you don't like what was done with the roubles then maybe be a little less cautious next time. If you didn't know then you wouldn't have worried. So given you have already handed the money over, what happens next is up to your daughter.....does it really matter?

Cheers

1399871 2015-05-08 14:06:00 .does it really matter?

Well in some respects no, it'd be a shame if or when she has problems and I wouldn't know how to help.
