1399244 2015-04-24 21:37:00 SWMBO has just given 3 weeks notice at work. She is finally decided to retire .I would like some advice on what to put in a retirement basket which I will present to her on her last day at work.

So far I have got some cleaning cloths, some Ajax liquid and an up to date copy of the Edmonds cookbook.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Ken :)

After showering SWMBO with these extravagances, a first aid kit would possibly be your best bet.

1399246 2015-04-24 22:09:00 And don’t forget you’ll need at least two of everything as brooms, mops, dishcloths, dusters etc. seem to get misplaced. ;) B.M. (505)

You mean she doesn't do all the cooking and cleaning now, while she works as well??!!
In my experience most women do.

While we are both not working I cook and we share the cleaning duties, whichever one of us ends up working the other does 80% of the cooking and cleaning.

We both prefer that I cook though I enjoy it SWMBO hates cooking.

Nope, I do all the cooking, most of the cleaning and all lawns and gardens. I have only done part time work (for various reasons) for some years now. So I do my bit.

That is why I joke about buying her a retirement basket of goodies to help her ease back into the household chores :)

1399250 2015-04-25 22:57:00 You could buy her a decent lazy girl chair so that she can relax after all the hard work she has done. Bobh (5192)

Ken

wow.
So ask her what she will do then. Take over cleaning? The outdoors?
Whichever.....

Husband cleans the oven. He will vacuum if I ask and does do laundry.

But he does the lawns.
I cook. He thinks he can but the last time I asked him to do something with the mince the results were hideous....
