1408873 2015-09-25 04:07:00 Got an issue here with AC97 onboard audio.
GA-M55SLI-S4 mobo
Vista
Using 5.1 speakers.
Sound channels not being alocated to the correct speakers.
Have updated chip drivers, audio drivers & bios.
No change.
Have checked the speaker configuration in sound effects manager & also windows playback devices.
Works fine with a addin pci sound card.
I'm thinking fault in mobo.
Anyone been down this road?

Don't know if theres any link but in device manager there is a flag on "AVYXCA5J IDE Controller"

Other than that the system is running sweet & bug free.

1408876 2015-09-25 04:33:00 What about the AVYXCA5J IDE Controller one?

That ACPI entry did you install Daemontools?? Looks like this can create that entry
Speedy Gonzales (78)
1408877 2015-09-25 04:45:00 The second entre was for the IDE Controller

Shouldn't be any Daemontools on here.

I'll do a search

1408878 2015-09-25 05:30:00 You were right.
Found Daemontools, also Limeware, Bearshare & Comet.
Didn't show up in installed programs.
Got rid of it.
Didn't seem to fix anything though.

1408879 2015-09-25 05:41:00 Delete the AVYXCA5J IDE Controller entry then reboot. See if comes back Speedy Gonzales (78)
1408880 2015-09-25 06:03:00 Tried that, came back, now called AMM7TRS8 IDE

Dam chip fan has started squawking now.
