| 1408646 | 2015-09-21 11:51:00 | I have got a Win8.1 notebook PC and would like to upgrade to Win10. I have downloaded the Win10 to a usb drive. Do I need to update (windows update) the notebook before running the upgrade? This note has not been updated for quite a few months. |

| 1408649 | 2015-09-22 04:07:00 | It's gone well for me on all my machines, once upgraded though you then have the future option of a clean install if the upgrade is buggy. MS record a hardware identifier in a database so in future any attempt to activate windows 10 on that motherboard should happen automatically without needing a key. |

| 1408650 | 2015-09-22 04:59:00 | Everything seems to be OK, all programs are working; initially, Windows update pops up errors in updating the video drivers but after a second attempt (manually) it installed fine. So far, so good. :) I am however reluctant to upgrade my Desktop PC (my main machine) because I have an old ATI 4850 video card which may have problem in getting the Win10 driver. I couldn't find any Win10 driver from AMD site. Anyone here has this card with Win10? |
