| 1399535 | 2015-04-28 12:29:00 | Guys a question has come up within my circle causing discussion. None of us know enough about to to say for sure and so far Google has come up empty. Muslims have to pray something like 5 times a day and at certain times. How does that fit in with a time critical role in the work place where you just can't have them take off like that. If a cigarette break is denied and toilet breaks strongly discouraged (effectively banned as we are all adults and have learned a modicum of control in this area) during the critical period can you also deny religious breaks? |

Breaks are not permitted during this time and we assumed at least one of those "prayer times" will be in the critical period. Also using Muslim again as an example 5x a day is 2 more than the standard 3 breaks a day. |

They do have certain times, but if they can not do it at that time, they must do it later. They have shorter versions of their prayers, and even some ability to combine prayers together. They understand these things and it's best to actually discuss it with muslims because they could explain how they overcome situations where it does make it hard but they usually can make up for it within the same day. | 1399539 | 2015-04-28 19:54:00 | I worked with a Ba'Hai (sp?) guy once. He had to have different religious days off, so he worked over our breaks, and had his leave at other times. Worked with a Muslim lady once too. She did pray - during breaks, but depending how radical they are I guess you can adjust the times a bit.... And who denies toilet breaks anyway? |
