497479 2006-11-08 08:02:00 I am using the MS Firewall on my new Metla hard drive. Is the Sygate Personal Firewall 5.6 any better, or worse.
I believe it is not done to run two firewalls at the same time. PJ

497480 2006-11-08 08:16:00 XP's firewall wont block outgoing connections. So, if u get a nasty, it will connect to whatever with XP's firewall.

Sygate however would most probably alert you to whats trying to connect to the net. And let you block it.

Or block it automatically.

497481 2006-11-08 08:19:00 Speedy..... So can I run them both together ?? PJ Poppa John (284)
497482 2006-11-08 08:20:00 No, I would turn XP's off, as sooner or later, I would say they'll conflict with each other. Speedy Gonzales (78)

OK, Thanks, I will assume that Sygate is the better of the two. PJ

497484 2006-11-08 08:33:00 Yup I would say Syagte is the better of the 2.

XP's firewall can block incoming connections but not outgoing. I would say Sygate blocks incoming and outgoing connections.
