497567 2006-11-08 10:54:00 My computer was giving me problems and therefore I had to delete all files and I had to re-install the windows XP profession. Now 2 problems have developed
1) On windows media player there is no sound. I went to device manager there are yellow question marks. I tried to re-instal it but it is asking for cd which i dont have. How can I correct this?
2) When I switch on the computer or restart it, It is saying FAILURE TO BOOT insert the installation disc this is when it starts to work. How can I disable this.
Please help.

If the mobo has mobo drivers, you have to install these first.

If its a system you purchased, like Dell or HP/Compaq. You have to go to their site and download the audio/sound drivers and install them for the sound to work.

Did u do a clean install?? Not just install XP over an existing version of XP?

Do you know what the brand/model of the mobo is?

If you made this system up yourself, everything you need will be on the CD, that came with the motherboard.

2. If u changed the bootdisk to the cd when (or if u did a clean install), did you change it back to the hard drive, and take the cd out? After XP was installed?
