498309 2006-11-12 04:15:00 I downloaded a new driver supposed to work better for windows xp for my 8mb "Trident accelerator blade 3d/promedia" except it went all buggered. The max refresh rate i can now set the monitor to is 1hz and the computer isnt registering what type of gfx card it is or anything it just says vga card...
how can i roll back the driver to the previous one?
the driver roll back button is gone from the screen showing the driver details...
help :stare:

498310 2006-11-12 04:24:00 Use System Restore to roll the system back just before you installed the new driver. Jen (38)
498311 2006-11-12 05:09:00 You're better off doing it in Safe Mode, when the fancy drivers aren't used. pcuser42 (130)
498312 2006-11-12 05:39:00 I just checked and system restore was off. Crap what can i do now...
Oh and i can't download it off the net cos my card is obsolete and people that have hosted the drivers for it have all either deleted it or changed to the new one, which unfortunately is the one i just installed

498313 2006-11-12 06:56:00 So boot into safe mode and manually remove the driver.

Why are you running XP on such an old PC anyway?
pctek (84)
498314 2006-11-12 07:17:00 Because I cannot afford to buy a new computer and XP was installed on it when it went in to get fixed one day...
How do i manually remove it?
And when I do there will be no driver wont there? So how will it display stuff?

Is this worth it (keeping in mind i only have PCI)

And will it run games like counter strike source and half life 2?

498315 2006-11-12 21:32:00 boot to safe mode and then goto device manager and find the 'display adaptor' then right clik it and 'uninstall' dont worry windoze will supply some drivers which will make it work fine enuf for your needs.... drcspy (146)
