498190 2006-11-12 05:04:00 Could do if it is the live disk version or if not you would need to install it.Also as
in my other post. You would want someone who knows the distro to help. Not that there is any danger but someone who knows the distro will hopefully know the process needed to look at yr drive and recover things.Thanks. Curretly installing Ubuntu but what is "DISTRO"?

498192 2006-11-12 05:31:00 A Linux distribution or GNU/Linux distribution (or a distro) is a Unix-like operating system comprising software components such as the Linux kernel, the GNU toolchain, and assorted free and open source software. Some proprietary software is found in certain distributions and is not free software. A Linux Distribution — or distro, en parlante — is created by individuals, groups and organizations from around the world.

498194 2006-11-12 09:48:00 set yr stuffed hdd as slave, install "Stella Phoenix Fat & NTFS" (find on the web) on yr good drive - run the prog and it'll more than likely see the stuffed hdd and recover whatever you want. considerably cheaper than a data recovery specialist. blondini (905)
498195 2006-11-12 10:24:00 Ubuntu installation is finished. Able to access all drives except found that the my DAMN Microsoft Windows XP is corrupted causing a huge problem here. My old HDD is so small so can't do anything about it until I got a bigger HDD.

There's a major problem here How can I change the disk drive permission to be an owner rather than not an owner?

MANY THANKS GUYS. Now I can have a piece of mind for NCEA exams.:)
