498123 2006-11-23 03:28:00 How are torrent speeds on Go Large now? I've read on another forum that it has improved dramatically over the last week or so... bonkiebonks (7249)
498124 2006-11-23 03:42:00 We know most of the torrent clients use UDP or TCP protocols , i was thinking to use http, just to try out & see if i get any speed difference. how can i do this?.HTTP also uses TCP. Erayd (23)
498125 2006-11-23 04:08:00 mine go from about 7kb - 35kb max...very inconsistant though. turning_point (9507)

Some one will explain better, but in a nut shell it’s because of local & International speeds as you will always get better download speeds here in NZ then you will internationally, are you on Go large?

I Hope this is off some help :)

The most elementary reasons are because the number of hops to overseas servers are so many more than to Xtra; and their servers have to cope with a lot more traffic than local ones. Further, there's often a chokepoint at our international gateway to overseas.

Nope, as they have different tech to us & you would have to pay toll calls on that as well, so it would get very pricey.

498131 2006-12-01 01:37:00 im now having my traffic shaped, im with orcon, i tested utorrent about 20 minutes ago and dl at about 0.0-2kb/s..when i first started the torrent which is highly seeded it was going at 17 kb/s but then steadily dropped.

let me explain, i filled in the form to be switched to the zeroshock max/max plan on the 28th of october, the day it came out if im not mistaken, in the contract it said it will take no longer than 5 working days to change plans, the next day, my speeds were super fast, one would assume youve changed plans, right?

WRONG, they changed my speeds but not my bandwidth part of my plan, i did not know this and started downloading a bit, end of the month came and bam, i have a 180 dollar internet use bill. so for you people that read i was getting 300+ kb/s on torrents, it was because my plan wasnt changed.

orcon succesfully conned me, i rang them, emailed them, with them just telling me that the plan changes/changed a month after you signed up to the new plan, illegal, i know, but what can i do about it.
