| 498180 | 2006-11-12 00:20:00 | Did u buy it from Supercheap? Bad mistake if you did. Theyre not the most reliable people around, if u hadnt noticed from other posts in here about that place. Other than that, if u want to use it format it. Not much else u can do if it doesnt boot into Windows. And recovery console doesnt work. What happens if u connect it to a working computer as a slave?? Can you get into it?I've tried it but can't. Format it? Anyway of recovering my files? And can anyone tell me how many recovery specialist in Auckland? Price per hour? Thanks. How do I disable the Norton GoBack? Because when I tried to launch into Windows it keeps restarting saying the system is too unstable to run Windows. |

| 498181 | 2006-11-12 00:28:00 | And what kind of files are you talking about? If theyre programs that have been installed already forget it, reinstall it on something else. So, what happened then when u connected the hdd to a working pc as slave?? If u were in Mt Eden, I could see what I could do. Dont know bout Goback, never used it. |

So, what happened then when u connected the hdd to a working pc as slave?? If u were in Mt Eden, I could see what I could do. Dont know bout Goback, never used it. I use my old HDD to set up as master while the Western Digital use as slave. And I use the old HDD to boot into XP and go to hardware properties and it shows 2 HDD connected but never show the Western Digital. Any idea what should I do? How can I repartition the HDD without deleting the files on the HDD? |

| 498183 | 2006-11-12 00:46:00 | Dont think u can repartition it . Partitionmagic may do it, I dont know, I havent got it installed to try it . Other than that I wouldnt touch it . Until u can find someone who can check it out . Thats if u want to pay for someone to do this . Like I said, if you're in Mt Eden, I could check it out . |

| 498184 | 2006-11-12 00:49:00 | Can my computer run on this product with SATAII connection I mean my computer only supports SATAI? Here's the product supercheappc.biz Nice drive. Yes your PC should be able to run it, it will run at Sata 1 rather than 2 though. But DON'T buy it from Supercheap - not if you want any sort of warranty with it. |

But DON'T buy it from Supercheap - not if you want any sort of warranty with it.Warranty? Is Seagate HDD reliable? I use the 40GB Seagate HDD for years and haven't even break down yet except the Western Digital which is two years only. Super Cheap Computers is selling the cheapest at the moment. |

| 498186 | 2006-11-12 03:14:00 | Here another thing I found. First I open the control panel then go to Admnistrative Tools click computer management then click storage then disk management. I'm using the Seagate to boot into XP and use the Western Digital as slave. What could I do to access the HDD? In the volume colum it didn't show the drive letter on Western Digital. Status on WD shows HDD is Healthy and active. |

| 498187 | 2006-11-12 03:32:00 | Did you look at the post I referred to earlier? You could try a Linux live distro CD.Very little cost and well worth a go. First tho check out the URL I gave you earlier, the problem there was sort of similar and the outcome was great. The last couple of posts in that thread are the ones where he found a solution. |

| 498189 | 2006-11-12 04:50:00 | Could do if it is the live disk version or if not you would need to install it.Also as in my other post. You would want someone who knows the distro to help. Not that there is any danger but someone who knows the distro will hopefully know the process needed to look at yr drive and recover things. |
