| 498831 | 2006-11-13 21:19:00 | I'll be interested to know whether people are getting anything like the advertised speeds on Telstra broadband (specifically cable, NOT adsl). My area (Lower Hutt) is in the coverage area, but I currently use Xtra broadband. I'm contemplating changing, because despite being on one of the supposedly "unleashed" plans I'm getting 2 meg down and 450k up on a good day. (according to nzdsl.co.nz speedtest) Far cry from the 3.5 down/720 up carrier speeds my router reports, and not really good value for money when you consider the competition... What's the evening/weekend slowdown like on Telstra? A |

| 498832 | 2006-11-13 23:34:00 | I'm in lower hutt using cable, no problems getting the 4meg down and 2meg up, although this does depend on where you are downloading from. | plod (107) | ||
| 498833 | 2006-11-14 00:45:00 | I'm in Wellington on their 10M/2M plan. When downloading i average 900KB/s - 1190KB/s (approx 1MByte/s), all day. and use a download manager on slower sites. NZ pings are about 15-30ms :) | dm2000 (11464) | ||

| 498835 | 2006-11-14 05:02:00 | I'm in ChCh and I usually get between 3 and 4 Mb down and between 1.5 and 2 Mb up. But what annoys me are the mini drop outs of a few seconds that occur several times a day. | TideMan (4279) | ||
