498370 2006-11-12 12:16:00 Hi
I am trying to display video on TV through my GFX card, It has a 6pin S-video connection so i got a 6PIN - 4PIN S-Video adapter. I have used a high quality gold plated pudney cable to connect it to my Yamaha reciver. But iam unable to see the picture on my tv set. I used a RCA to check and it works. But svideo doesnt. Am i going wrong anywhere.?

498371 2006-11-12 18:03:00 check that card signal output is using PAL beama (111)
498372 2006-11-13 06:35:00 I dont think thats the problem. if that was the case then the picture would have been scrambled at the most. gum digger (6100)
498373 2006-11-13 08:50:00 depends......
with mine it was and the signal was not scrambled, just nothing untill I changed the output to PAL

498374 2006-11-14 23:11:00 Well how do you change it catalyst control center? the latest 1 gum digger (6100)
498375 2006-11-15 00:29:00 Dont know if its the same as here, you have to right mouse on the desktop / properties/settings . Then advanced .

What u want maybe under the display tab .

It maybe a bit different from mine, since I'm not using the latest version of the drivers .

Since the settings didnt stick, I had to go here everytime I rebooted to reconfigure it .

So, I stuck with the original drivers that came with the videocard .

498376 2006-11-15 05:17:00 nope it doesnt help. But if i use an s-video to Rca adapter and plug into an rca socket on my reciever it works.
how ?

498377 2006-11-15 05:22:00 Must be a setting on your TV then .

See if there's an option for s-video on the TV, if the cable is plugged into the s-video plug . Otherwise, just put the RCA adapter in . Since it works .

498378 2006-11-15 06:07:00 ATI has made it so hard to connect by supplying a tvout which has 7pin svideo. How much quality am i loosing if i use rca? gum digger (6100)

Nothing, there's nothing special about s-video anyway.

I tried s-video once before, and it didnt work either. So, I just stuck with RCA.

It maybe how the pins are wired up, they maybe different to how the TV s-video connection is wired up. Why it doesnt work either.
