2006-11-16 22:50:00 | You will have top install the drivers again for the sound card. Go to control panel>system>>device manager, right click on the sound card (with the exclaimation mark) and update drivers using the files that you have just downloaded..

2006-11-16 22:51:00 | You have to find out what brand/model the mobo is and download the drivers from whatever site. | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

2006-11-16 22:59:00 | Did u reinstall (do a clean install)? Or did u just install XP over XP? Wouldnt these PC's have a partition (or something) to take it back to its original state?

2006-11-17 20:57:00 | Speedy it was xp over xp In that case the virus is most probably still on your system. Installing XP over XP wont fix a virus problem. If u did a clean install it might. I would get a anti-virus program and do a thorough scan. Or get Hijackthis (www.merijn.org) Unzip this file, then run it then click on scan and saver a log. Post the log here. And get Spybot (www.spybot.info) Download the main program and the detection updates. Install both then run it then do a scan.

2006-11-20 23:23:00 | Rebooted pc and have no sound since. not trying to be pedantic just teaching you the correct terminology which is VERY important in computing as one statement means something totally different to another......... rebooted......means to restart the pc...... you've reinstalled
