499474 2006-11-15 21:27:00 Hi,
In our second PC connecting to the net via LAN, Outlook Express stopped sending emails. I ave reinstalled IE6 and OE6, disabled AVG and Zone Alarm, but still no joy. The outgoing mail goes to the Outbox and shows up in the Sent Items folder, but never arrives.
The Account is xxxxxx@yahoo.co.nz and the server settings are
pop.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Any help in solving this problem would be much appreciated.

How do you know that the mail never arrives? & which e-mail provider are you sending the mail to?

Enable both AVG and Zone Alarm again immediately. That would have nothing to do with it.
And reinstalling apps is a serious overkill thing to do.

The easiest way to check your email is working properly is to send one to yourself.

If it both sends and is received back again within a minute or so, then its fine.

The problem will be at the other persons end.

I know it never arrives because I tried to send several to myself at xtra. ( The other PC belong to my wife)

To pctek.

It maybe overkill to reinstall IE and OE, but when nothing else works I try everything.
Like you suggested, I tried to send a couple of email to self, and the same thing happened: mail went to outbox, showed up in sent items, but never came back :-(((

499478 2006-11-16 06:39:00 According to this (answers.yahoo.com) you need a premium account, to access Yahoo email in OE.

And here (help.yahoo.com)

Are you paying to access Yahoo email?

I hate to correct you there Speedy, but this only applies to new accounts, not old ones, as I can still access my mail via OE.
