| 499448 | 2006-11-15 19:30:00 | I have a couple of Palm PDA's..and Clie PEG-S320 and another newer Clie PEG-TJ35/U. Did some Googling and have not really found what I want to have answered. Is there any way to either emulate or install the Windows OPSYS in them instead of the Palm OPSYS? Maybe Mepis? Or any Linux-based OPSYS's? <I think I am stepping into something hard here> |

| 499449 | 2006-11-16 05:17:00 | Hi SurferJoe46, I've been using Palms for some years, and not tripped over anyone doing this. Palm is a very small OS, generally permanently installed on a chip inside the device, without possibility of upgrade. Guess not impossible for someone to adapt Linux to install on a Palm - ref this found via Google http://palm-linux.sourceforge.net/ My instinct is that the effort involved might not be worth the reward. Palm's strength (to me) is in giving simple, reliable, and mobile access to Outlook diary, contact, and task data. Regards, Martnz |
