| 499138 | 2006-11-14 19:38:00 | Two problems, possibly related: 1 There are some programs I have used for years which are supposed to have an icon in the system tray. Increasingly in the last few months, after booting up normally (?) there are one or more icons missing from the systray. The programs are still running (I can use hotkey commands for some, or I can check in Task Manager) but just the systray icons are missing. 2 No problems with bootup or shutdown speed, BUT again in the last few months I've noticed some applications take ages to open, especially for the first time in a session. Examples: Opera (between 30 and 60 seconds), Word, IE. PS: I'm pretty rigorous about updating and using AdAware, Spybot, CCleaner etc at least weekly. I'll be grateful for any help. Answer questions separately (1 or 2) if it helps. I'm a bit on the 'newbie' side so nothing too technical please! XP Home, SP2 |
