499914 2006-11-17 09:08:00 I am wondering if anyone else has found this peculiarity. Since around the time I installed FF2 I have noticed a weird annoyance. Say, after doing a google search you scroll down the page then click on an item, instead of opening that link the page scrolls back to the top of the page. Re-clicking always works after that. This behaviour is repeatable with a new window. Tried googling but it is hard to find good search words! linw (53)
499915 2006-11-17 09:26:00 Do you have NoScript extension installed? zqwerty (97)
499916 2006-11-17 11:30:00 Only a suggestion, but try installing latest drivers for your mouse. Greg (193)
499917 2006-11-17 19:24:00 No, No Script not installed.

Seriously don't think it is a mouse problem as I am just using the bog std PS/2 mouse dvr.

499918 2006-11-17 22:49:00 I did uninstall mouse dvr - no diff.

The problem seems to be a window focus problem. All web pages show an input (vertical blinking bar) cursor at the beginning of the page or at the place the mouse is clicked. My other machine with same setup (apart from the error causing setting!) shows no sign of this problem so there is some subtle crook setting.

If I use the top right FF google search box I don't get the problem. Only when I use the google toolbar add-on. Pretty weird.

I think I need to uninstall and re-install to get default settings back. But I need to keep bookmarks (no probs as I can save this html file) and my Links. It is this latter that I am not sure about. Which file are these stored in?

TIA.

499919 2006-11-17 23:05:00 Bit odd talking to myself but maybe someone else will find this helpful sometime!

The problem relates to a setting in Tools/Options/Advanced/General . If the box 'Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages' is checked, you get the symptoms described .

No idea how mine came to be checked but there you go . All's well now!
