| 500905 | 2006-11-21 07:46:00 | Hi Hammer - depends on your OS. In XP you can load a keyboard on to the screen and operate it with the mouse. | Scouse (83) | ||

| 500908 | 2006-11-21 09:02:00 | 1. do the num lock, caps lock and scroll lock lights flash on your keyboard when you start your machine? 2. Can you access your BIOS ie press f2 or delete keys when booting? 3. do you get any error codes,? beeps on bootup or "keyboard not detected, press f1 to continue" ( I just love the logic in that one DUH). 4. how far do you get into the boot process? 5. how old is the pc (reason warranty)? 6.have you "hot plugged the keyboard" ?(unplugged and plugged back in while the pc is going) <sideline> I just love this Firefox 2 spell checker but there goes my argument for a inbuilt pf1 spell checker </sideline> |

| 500912 | 2006-11-21 19:29:00 | test the Faulty (?) keyboard in another machine if it works rule out the keyboard want os is on this machine Want happened when you tried the usb keyboard did it boot into the OS somtimes that error message will time out and the machine will continue to boot Yes maybe there is somthing that can be done try a pci ps2 card that may allow you to plug in the keyboard and get it working The reason you are having trouble (maybe) with the usb keyboard is the age of the hardware (BIOS) and or the operating system ie 98 does not have usb drivers native these have to be installed |
