| 500708 | 2006-11-20 11:44:00 | Anyone had trouble with Win ME and dual layer DVD burners or just DVD Burners? Just put a new Dual layer DVD burner into a newly formatted Win ME PC with Nero and it will not play DVD's. Nero goes through the process of burning data but nothing is actually written to the DVD. I have tried different players and uninstalled Nero but still no luck. Any ideas? | berryb (99) | ||
| 500709 | 2006-11-20 13:38:00 | you probably had nero set to burn to 'image' rather than the disk.......check the settings to ensure that it is set to burn using the dvd drive rather than to 'image'...i'ts a common prob. | drcspy (146) | ||
| 500710 | 2006-11-21 06:41:00 | No it was burning to the drive, well it showed all the signs it was. The light was going and the drive spinning. If I put in a shop purchased DVD to play no program I have will play the movie. Errors have been an I/O error, cannot open this file, File type not supported. Really wierd things!! The drive has been replaced with another new one and same problem. Thing is I worked on another PC not long ago that was Win ME with the same problem but was an external USB 2 DVD-RW. I put the problem down to being USB 2 and Win ME not liking it but now I wonder if it is a Win ME problem as the one I have now is an IDE drive. |
