We (PC World) are giving away a full copy of NOD32 with each subscription or renewal during December and January. That's $70 worth. Or if you look at it a different way, buy a copy of NOD32 from us for $80 and get a free subscription to PC World :D

I seem to remember you had a roundup of anti-virus programs a while back and Nod32 was not one of them.

It takes a while for some old dogs to learn new tricks. ;)

500954 2006-12-12 22:14:00 The best anti-virus software would have to be linux/MacOS of course as 99.9% of viruses are msviruses :D

But seriously, I 've used avg on my winxp install for years and it's been great, will be sad to see it become no longer free next year:groan: (lack of vision!!)

So if you have to start paying, you may as well pay for the best and the confirmed leader for many years is nod32.

When will people start doing a little research.:horrified :groan: AVG is still going to be free. The old version is no longer going to be supported in Jan but version 7.5 has been out for a free download for quite a while and as it is free why should they support an old version. There have been heaps of posts on this subject.
