500625 2006-11-20 07:48:00 Hi there

I need to make a flash movie, in which identical sized but differing images are morphed into one another over a time frame.

the idea is to have a welcome text remain static on screen for 4 seconds, then fade away as image #1 come into view (over say 3 seconds), hold still for 6 seconds, then fade away as image #2 comes into view over another 3 seconds then holds still etc....

I read that Flash7 will only morph drawings (made on screen with its drawing tools) and not images. If so, is there a way I can get an image to slowly fade away in one layer, whilst another layer comes up underneath as the first fades away?

Thanks

John in Mosgiel.

500626 2006-11-20 10:14:00 Does this have to be done in flash, would an animated gif be suitable they are easily done in photoshop Rob99 (151)
500627 2006-11-20 18:40:00 Well, I was thinking about the eventual file size, the promo advert will run for 20 seconds, might be rather large in animated gif.

500628 2006-11-21 00:49:00 Stick up some images somewhere and timing instructions, we will have a go.
Dosent have to be your images just similar size for demo if you like.

500629 2006-11-21 04:56:00 It is possible, select the image and from one of the menu options on the very top select break apart (might be under edit or something). This should allow you to morph. Ensue first keyframe and ending keyframe have the same image tht has been broken apart (this is for morphing)

To use fade (or in Flash there is option alpha transparency) .. conver the image to symbol. And in both keyframes ensure symbol is used.

Sorry I cannot be more specific as I do not have Flash MX installed on my laptop at the moment but look up symbols and break-apart in Flash help you will have an idea of what I am talking about.

500630 2006-11-21 08:13:00 Thanks for the offers and suggestions.

The images are exterior pics of various stores, but have been cut so they are all 700 by 100 pixels in size.

Id like to run this ad for 32 seconds 12fps, in four segements, like this
1 - Kiwi Kids thanks acknowledges the support of (5 sec)
(a three second morph into)
2 - Smith City (5 sec)
(a three second morph into)
3 - Woolies (5 sec)
(a three second morph into)
4 - Mitre 10 (5 sec)
(a three second morph back into #1)

Then loop back to the start

Thanks............John.

1.01Mb, could possible make a bit smaller if I optimised each image first, but this only took 5 minutes to throw togeather.
Let us know if interested, and I will post instructions.
