| 501812 | 2006-11-24 20:21:00 | i'm buying a new graphics card, my budget is around $300 i was thinking it's a toss up between these two: Albatron 7600GT PCIE Video Card, 256Mb DDR3 Asus EN7600GS Silent/HTD/512M 7600GS PCIE Video Card, 512Mb DDR2 one has twice the ram but the other has faster ram, the asus is quite a bit cheaper in price too, which do i choose? or maybe there's another solution? i'll be playing games like BF2 on an amd 3600+ dual core with 1gig of ram i dont know a heck of a lot about video cards :( opinions welcome :D Jimmy |

They are about 80% as fast as a 7900GT and can be overclocked to very similar performance. You can get them for around $330-360+GST ish. If you can spare a little more you won't regret it long term. |

| 501815 | 2006-11-25 03:59:00 | One other point - the Albatron has a 1 year warranty - the ASUS has a 3 year warranty. If you can, always get ASUS or Leadtek for the 3 year warranties. |

I said the exact same thing but my post is gone :groan: Anyway if you can wait and save up a little bit more get a 7900GS. They poon 7600GT and GS and even give 7800/7900GT's a run for their money. A Albatron 7900GS 256MB DDR3 goes for $384.65 at C1. And Albatron 7900GS's easily beat 7800GT's or Radeon X1800 GTO's :) c1com.co.nz |
