| 501275 | 2006-11-23 20:09:00 | Asus DRW-1608P3S c1com.co.nz Excellent burner and can be flashed with the Pioneer firmware to make it into a Pioneer drive if you really wanted. I have the original DRW-1608P and have flashed it with the Pioneer firmware to enable bitsetting with DVD+R discs which gives greater compatibility on set top DVD players. It now shows as a Pioneer DVR-109. I bought same model from same place (in black) a couple of months ago. No probs at all, although I don't use it much. Can't beat that price either. |

| 501276 | 2006-11-24 11:29:00 | i've had only good experience with samsung, and you can get them for less than $100 and they'll burn and dvd/cd r/rw single/dual layer disc you put in there too (rather than just read dvd) try this (www.trademe.co.nz)... i think it's the one i've got, but i'm not sure about 2MB the buffer.... does anyone what is an acceptable buffer size for these things?
