I am running XP on a WD320 Gb Sata, I would like to connect 2 IDE drives to the IDE port, however when I connect them the system will not boot to XP as it picks up the ide drive as boot drive. Have tried changing the boot sequence in the bios without effect. Am running a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro 2. Have tried configuring jumpers on IDE as slave but no good. It works if I use a controller card and run the drives off a pci slot, but I want to use the IDE on the motherboard. Any suggestions would be appreciated. regards Unimatrix013: |

Have tried changing the boot sequence in the bios without effect. Hmmm. Weird looking BIOS setup - something to do with that Remapping sata to IDE?? Try putting the IDE drives on the secondary IDE port rather than the Primary. And make sure they don't have an O/S on them. |
