| 502191 | 2006-11-26 03:11:00 | I got a PC with a PCI wireless card in it and a laptop which has wireless inbuilt in it. I got a wireless connection (ad hoc) .... comp to lappy and sharing the internet connection so i can move my lappy around. The problem is that the connection drops every minute or so and reconnects straight after within a few seconds.. I can surf the net on the lappy without much problem. But why does the connection keep dropping and reconnecting. network auth: Open Data encryp: disabled This is a comp to comp "box" is checked The PC and the lappy are only 10meters apart. The signal strenght is excellent. Any ideas fellas???? |

| 502192 | 2006-11-26 03:17:00 | Could be a firewall disconnecting u. Or something isnt configured properly. I wouldnt leave it open, or disable encryption. Is SP2 installed if u use XP or did both come with their own programs? |

| 502194 | 2006-11-26 03:47:00 | Perhaps there is some interference on the channel you're using. I've found that similar problems were solved by using a different channel at my place. It might not be that but it's worth a try. | digikiwi (10681) | ||

I think its from channel 6 - 11. Is your wireless in ad-hoc mode or infrastructure mode?? It has to be on one of these to work properly. Your mate may have configured his properly and on the right channel. You sure its wireless and not infra red or bluetooth? |
