2006-12-01 04:20:00 | i have but no websites say whether or not they have interleaving as an option and i wanna hear from what PEOPLE say, as in peoples experiences with the providers etc. You have the interleave On/Off option with Xnet. There speeds seem ok, But yea, there new plans are not as good as there old one's. IMO.

2006-12-01 04:24:00 | Xnet is very good - excellent speeds, and from what I can tell, absolutely no P2P throttling. Pings are excellent too, 9ms to NZ sites. The only reason I switched away from them was the high cost, even more so than Orcon. | bonkiebonks (7249) | |

2006-12-02 07:54:00 | If you like unlimited usage plans, and you require Interleaving to be turned off, Woosh Orbit Flat Rate would be your best bet. As far as I can see, it isn't resold Go Large (Cabriolet) whereas Maxnet, and Actrix all re-sell the Go Large, hence you can't turn off interleaving. I just switched to Go Large from Xnet Flood three days ago, and I'm actually quite pleased with it - I managed to download over 7GB during this short period. But then again, if you need Interleaving to be turned off, go for Woosh. I can't speak for their speeds, but have heard some good things about them. My own experience with Quicksilver (now Woosh) in the past wasn't spectacular - especially their international bandwidth which was non-existent. international bandwidth? most of the stuff i dl is from european and american servers...does this mean anything? i get like, 700kb/s down on orcon/s max/max and like 80kb/s up, you rekon that would change if i went to woosh? btw: i rang woosh and asked about if i can get interleaving turned off but for some reason you cant get thru to any adsl line, just wireless, so i was talking to wireless helpdesk lady, and really it was wireless setup helpdesk lady and im sure she didnt know anything she was talking about...she didnt even know what interleaving was..haha

2006-12-02 08:20:00 | so you will get better latency with interleaving off, but does it have any other effects? any bad effects? i understand that interleaving ensures that data received and transmitted is correct, but if interleaving is switched off, what if any ill-effects can come of it? I'm with Xnet and my torrents suck.. it was faster for me to get a game posted from Thailand then it was to dwnld it, my brother and I did a test... haha :nerd: anyways, back to being white and nerdy..:waughh: | bizzack (7739) | |
2006-12-02 09:01:00 | interleaving DOES have bad effects despite what isp's say about it having none/very few customers have bad experiences. i downloaded a very big file which was split into about 40 rar archives, when i extracted them i kept getting crc errors because my internet muist have kept having really small and quick disconnections etc, i had to redownload like 10 pieces :( but its worth it if your a gamer, besides that it is useless to anyone else, except it wil prolly just make gamers pings worse if EVERYONE got it off as not everyone NEEDS it off...so ya unless your a pretty hardcore first person gamer, dont even bother, if will give you more troubles than its worth.

2006-12-03 09:37:00 | I'm with Telstra Clear on full up and down with interleaving off. Gaming pings are lowest they've ever been and I have not noticed any ill effects from having interleaving off. I pay $44 plus $12 per 10 gig pack. Suits us fine, we don't use more than 10 gigs per month. | Jester (13) | |
2006-12-03 10:06:00 | ya that would be good but i download like, 20-40gb's a month, ATLEAST. so ya i need a very high cap or unlimited.

2006-12-03 23:02:00 | decided who im going with. after sending a email to woosh asking if they had interleaving as an option and them replying back to me via the PHONE which i thought was great, it IS an option, i was right, the ***** didnt know what she was talking about so ya im going on unlimited with no interleaving at end of the month, WOOT
