503768 2006-12-02 10:21:00 Hi all

I finally installed a dvd drive on my comp today and began to install vista RC1, only to be stopped by lack of the product key, I did have one because i did register,
I know i was sent an email with it in, but i can't find the email at all, and from memory when i went on to the ms site and logged in i was able to view the key somewhere (or at least i think i was) but i can't find that link any more, or at least the one i go to says the registration thingie has closed, and i can't seem to get to the point where i view the product key

Anyone know if you can still get to this place on the MS site as i can't find anything that tells me my product key

Any help would be greatly appreciated

the fact that you had to install a DVD drive in your PC so you could run the Vista Install setup tells me your PC is old, and has no hope of running vista full stop. so i wouldnt be fussed.

503771 2006-12-02 14:56:00 errrrrrr...........that's an interesting bit of logic........which makes little or no sense.....

my pc for instance is a P4 2.4Ghz, built 3 years ago and runs vista perfectly fine....but I only recently installed a dvd drive does this mean my puter is too old to run vista even tho it does run it ?

503772 2006-12-02 20:45:00 I'm pretty much the same as Drcspy, at the time my comp was built 2-3 years ago I was on a budget and Cd drives were cheap and it has really only been in the last few months that i have actually needed a dvd drive

And i do realise they are not giving out the product keys anymore, but the point is that i already had one (as i was going to install using Daemon tools), and i can't find the damn thing now, and i have searched the msn site while logged in,

Cheers

503773 2006-12-02 21:26:00 If I remember correctly, you don't have to put in a product key on install, just select the ultimate version... and it wil give you a few days to activate. But it would be best if you find that E-Mail... The_End_Of_Reality (334)
503774 2006-12-03 07:39:00 If you have a friend who also has a vista rc1 product key just use that. As far as I can remember one product key is good for 10 different computers. Marmion (9274)
