| 503535 | 2006-12-02 02:02:00 | Have just bought an Acer Aspire 5024WLMi Laptop with a DVD writer that doesn't appear to consistently read disks. This doesn't only apply to copies but also the originals. The first problem that surfaced was that the configuration had been incorrectly set up for the region. Having already taken back to have that problem rectified I was wondering if there are any other settings that may influence this problem and may need to be changed. If so, some guidance as to how would be appreciated. Cheers Smurf |

| 503536 | 2006-12-02 07:51:00 | What happens (or doesn't happen) with the DVDs or CDs? Error messages? Doesn't spin up? Does it work ok with CDs but not DVDs? | Jen (38) | ||
| 503537 | 2006-12-02 19:41:00 | Morning Jen This fault occurs mainly with CD's The drive shows activity and attemptsd to read then stops. If I manually, through My computer, open the drive when the disk is in and nothing has come up, the disk shows as being empty ie is the drive has failed to read? |

| 503538 | 2006-12-02 20:12:00 | It sounds like you have a faulty DVD drive. I would return the laptop and have it fixed under warranty. :) | Jen (38) | ||
