503758 2006-12-04 02:10:00 ok ive double clicked on the .exe file to update the firmware and after about 3 seconds a popup box pops up saying "Telnet timeout" and i have to click OK. so the update doesn't complete. Why is it saying this? Does anyone have the .BIN file for the most up to date firmware for the dsl g604t REV B wireless router? olderfix? there is only an .exe file on dlink's site and no .BIN file although it has instructions for the .bin file. lance4k (4644)
503759 2006-12-04 03:26:00 Why do you want to update the firmware?
We have a DSL-G604T here at work and it is using the original firmware it came with and WPA security is working fine. Looking at your pic that you posted I think you just haven't configured it correctly.

503760 2006-12-04 07:20:00 Follow the below guide to enable WPA Encryption:

I tried over and over again to enable WPA – but it would not work. Once upgraded, WPA enabled almost immediately and I haven't had any trouble since.

Upgrade the unit to the latest firmware prior to performing the below:

1.Click on the Wireless menu.
2. Click on the WPA Option.
3. Change the SSID.
4. Select PSK String. Enter String
5. Press the Apply button.
6. Obtain message "Privacy type is set to WPA. Multiple SSID support will be disabled". Click the OK button.
7. Settings where still applied.
8. Click on Tools > System. Click Save and Reboot button.
9. Unit restart.
10. Once screen refreshed, click on Wireless menu, Wireless settings where still applied and Encryption will be saved as specified.

If still having trouble contact Clint Bishop – he's the MAN! see below.
